17th Scandinavian Joint Christmas Party was held on Friday, 11 December 2009 at The Westin Tokyo Hotel in Ebisu.
413 members from SCCJ (Sweden), DCCJ (Denmark), FCCJ (Finland) ICCJ (Iceland) and NCCJ (Norway) and their guests enjoyed a fantastic evening together with delicious Nordic Christmas influenced food and wine, and a lot of other drinks. The party started with Santa paying a visit, followed by Christmas Songs by a group from Sophia University a much appreciated performance by the juggler BobBanGoo where he managed to keep 7 balls in the air. The evening was and ended off with a lot of dancing to the tunes of Brad and the Hitmen.
Thanks to sponsoring from 36 companies the evening was also filled with lotteries for great prices, the highlight being pairs of tickets to Europe from our long time supporters, Finnair and SAS.
Other appreciated prize items included a Stressless Royal chairs from Ekornes, bags from Ecco, Ole Mathiesen wact from POS and three 50,000 yen gift vouchers from the cash donations of the Gold sponsors Scandinavia Corp, Nippon Ericsson and Tetra Pak and a very valuable hotel voucher from Westin Tokyo.
In addition, 65 prizes were distributed by a pre-event lottery, 42 table gift winners brought home a candleholder. A total of 117 prizes meant that more than one in four guests won something.
