PARTY REPORT

15th Scandinavian Joint Christmas Party was held on Friday, 7 December 2007 at The Westin Tokyo hotel in Ebisu.

436 members from SCCJ (Sweden), DCCJ (Denmark), FCCJ (Finland) ICCJ (Iceland) and NCCJ (Norway) and their guests enjoyed a fantastic evening together with delicious food and wine, and a lot of other drinks. The party started with a different kind of Lucia parade by Carina Henriksson and Martin Andersson, followed by a much appreciated performance by Keiko and Håkan Börjeson and ending off the night with a lot of dancing to the tunes of Brad and the Hitmen.

Thanks to sponsoring from 48 companies the evening was also filled with lotteries for great prices, the highlight being pairs of tickets to Scandinavia (and Finland) from our long time supporters, SAS and Finnair.

Other appreciated prize items included two Stressless chairs from Ekornes, three mobile phones from Nokia, five pieces of unique donated by Sweden House, a sound system from B&O and four 50,000 yen gift vouchers from the cash donations of the Gold sponsors Scandinavia Corp, Nippon Ericsson and Tetra Pak, and hotel and restaurant vouchers from Westin and Swedbank.

In addition, 48 prizes were distributed by a pre-event lottery, 44 table gift winners brought home a candleholder. A total of 114 prizes meant that one in four guests won something.

The Finnish contingency made a rebellion because there had been no Finnish drink songs for 15 years and stepped up on the stage to sing their own snaps song.
