The ninth Stora Enso Cup was again a very close competition. The Finnish Chamber Team had an average of 79 strokes and the Swedish Team 80. This was the second consecutive win for the FCCJ team, but SCCJ has still six wins against FCCJ's three.

For the forth time the competition was played at the Windsor Park Golf & Country Club near Mito in Ibaraki prefecture. The course was in excellent condition and the service at the club second to none.

The individual winner (best net) was Hans Porat (SCCJ) with a net 71. He had the best gross score, 85 and winner of the SCCJ Spring Cup, and also won the longest drive. Second was Pernille Storm (SCCJ) with a net 72, and she also won two near pins. Third, and best FCCJ player was Eero Tammila with a net 75. The winner of the FCCJ longest drive was Hiroaki Sugawara. Other near pin winners where Pernille Storm (SCCJ), two, George Fujii (SCCJ) and Karl Pisor (SCCJ).

Even if SCCJ had the best two players, the FCCJ won with a more even team, their worst score to be counted was 86, that of SCCJ was 92 (best 80% was counted in the team scores).

This time the event was organized by SCCJ in good cooperation with FCCJ. We would like to thank the title sponsor Stora Enso Japan, Wilson (Amer Sports Japan) who again donated many fine prizes and all the others who brought nice prizes to the competition, and to Oak Associates who ensured that we did not run out of beer at the party. Our thanks go also to the Windsor Park G & C.C., Jim Fletcher and all the other staff for again helping us making this a great event at very reasonable costs.
