The tenth Annual General Assembly handled matters according to our Articles of Association. The reports from 2008 and activity plans and budget for 2009 were approved. The membership fees remain unchanged; 150,000 yen for corporate members, 75,000 yen for associate corporate and 20,000 yen for individual members.

Pekka Laitinen, Chief Representative, NorthStar Corporate Finance was elected new board member. The six board members (Tuomo Kuuppo, Shigeyoshi Noto, Samuli Pahkala, Marko Saarelainen, Yoshinori Sano and Hirokuni Yoshida, whose term ended where re-elected for another two years.

In the Board of Trustees Yukichi Nakamura, COO, Forest Product Division, Marubeni Corporation replaces Toshinori Umezawa, also of Marubeni Corporation. Five Board of Trustees members up for re-election (Toshio Egawa, Yukio Sakurai, Yasuji Ishigaki, Kanji Ohashi and Isao Nishimura) were elected for another 5 year term.
The auditors for 2008, Kazuki Yamamoto of Finland Japan Trading and Pertti Mero of Finnair Cargo, were re-elected for 2009.

After the General Assembly the new Board had it's first meeting and elected Marko Saarelainen to the President of FCCJ. Hirokuni Yoshida continues as Vice President.

After the formal proceedings Ambassador Jorma Julin gave a brief update on current affairs in the relations between Finland and Japan, followed by a dinner with the chamber's Board of Trustees.
